Gold Cup Runners
Below are guides to each of the gold cup runners for the 2010 Gold Cup. Which Gold Cup runners have performed well at Cheltenham before? Which runners are of a high enough class to win the Gold Cup? Which runners are likely to be in the race!!By each of the Gold Cup runners we will also show their latest Cheltenham Gold Cup odds.
Kauto Star
Three time winner of the King George at Kempton and now has become the first horse to regain the Cheltenham Gold Cup after victories in 2007 and 2009.
Has had question marks raised about his jumping and stamina in the past but all these must now be forgotten and he must be hailed as one of the greatest National Hunt horses of recent years.
Denman
Put in a power packed display to win the 2008 Gold Cup where he demonstrated a faultless round of jumping that completely devastatated his rivals. As good a performance in a Gold Cup as we are ever likely to see.
Unfortunately Denman suffered a setback after his Gold Cup win and was off the track for nearly a year - not the ideal preparation for defence of the Gold Cup. In the end he was an honourable second to stablemate Kauto Star and a third battle between both horses if they were both fit and well is what all NH fans are hoping for.
Betting Without Kauto and Denman
If you think their odds are too short, or you just cant make your mind up, how about placing a bet on the best of the other gold cup runners. Ignore Kauto and Denman for betting purposes on this market and choose who will finish best placed from all the other runners.Cooldine
Impressive winner of the 2009 RSA Chase is owned by Violet O'Leary, who has previously owned the likes of Cheltenham Festival winners Missed That and Florida Pearl.Cooldine still has something to find with the likes of Kauto Star and Denman but he looks the most likely of the young pretenders at this stage to split the Nicholls pair.
