The 2007 King George V1 Chase

Seven of the last eleven winners of the Gold cup took part in the King George. Kauto Star completed the double last year and will be bidding to do the same this year after an easy victory.



This was the fivth time that Exotic Dancer has taken on Kauto star and the fivth time he was beaten. Many blamed the different riding tactics, with McCoy riding more from the front rather than the usual waiting style. But hes a different horse at Kempton and much more suited by Cheltenham.

If Exotic Dancer can jump better than he did in the Gold Cup last year then there may well be less than 2.5 lengths between him and Kauto.

But dont forget about Denman...

2007 Lexus Chase

Last years Royal and Sun Alliance winner Denman remains undefeated over fences, winning three more this season including the Lexus Chase.

The wait was over and Kauto Star proved all the doubters wrong although he did make another last fence blunder! He jumped well apart from that and showed a brilliant turn of foot going towards the last to sprint away from his field.

Not only did Kauto Star win the Gold Cup but he also won a £1million bonus for winning three top races in the season.

Exotic Dancer finished just 2.5 lengths behind after making several mistakes and not having a clear run at the second last. Without the hype of Kauto he could go off a good price for the 2008 Gold Cup.
