Supreme Novices Hurdle Tips

The Supreme Novices is a great race to get involved in from an ante-post perspective and with the exception of Ebaziyan in 2007 shocks have been fairly rare recently in this race.

This race has been one of the highlights of the Festival for Irish horses in the last decade, so it could pay to focus any ante-post selection on the outcome of the main Irish novice hurdle trials: the Paddy Power Future Champion Novice, The Deloitte and The Royal Bond.

Last year's Bumper winner Dunguib is seen as a banker by many people but with some question marks over his jumping it may pay to look elsewhere.

One horse who fits all our trends is the Willie Mullins trained Flat Out. This five-year-old was an impressive winner of his first outing over hurdles and whilst he has some way to go to match the likes of Dunguib on paper he has the potential to defy his current very attractive odds of 40/1.

His trainer won this race just three years ago at a big price and Flat Out looks a great each-way bet to start proceedings at the 2010 Cheltenham Festival.
