So, it may be that getting a horse to peak at the right time is now the key to this race rather than a long drawn out plan to hide a handicap mark?

Ainama produced his best form on the flat when given a test of stamina and it could well be that connections have been saving this son of Desert Prince for when his true credentials can be best shown over hurdles.
Nicky Henderson's six-year-old ran well in the Supreme Novices Hurdle last year but improved again when stepped up a further half mile at Aintree when third to Bouggler and Copper Bleu in the Grade Two Mersey Hurdle.
This season has seen just the one eye-catching appearance in the Newbury qualifier for this race when many viewers were alerted to the McManus/Pertemps connection where the legendary owner has already won this race three times.
