Foxhunter Chase Analysis
Time to head for the bar for most punters but those that make the effort to get their head round the point to point and hunter chase form could be on to a decent priced winner. This one of the few races at the Festival where the bookies' knowledge of the runners could be slightly patchy and if you have done your homework you could have a distinct advantage.
Foxhunter Chase Tips
Last year's winner Cappa Bleu was the first winner since Rushing Wild seventeen years ago in 1992 to have not previously won under Rules and as that horse went on to finish runner-up in a Gold Cup!Whilst Cappa Bleu's circumstances were unusual last year he does illustrate a point worth remembering for 2010 - it's usually best to stick to an up and coming horse rather than be tempted by an ex-handicapper who is having a last hurrah in hunter chasing.
These old favourites very rarely maintain a level of form high enough to win a race like this - a point emphasised by the likes of Juveigneur and Kingscliff last year who struggled badly.
