Obviously then horses who win cross country races can often strike again so it could pay to follow another horse who has shown their liking for this style of course before.
It usually pays to avoid horses who are having their first run in cross country races - course experience is the key!
The Enda Bolger stable have had cross country fences especially built to train the horses over so their runners will be worth close attention.
Another stable to look out for in cross country races are the runners from Ferdy Murphy's yard. Always keen to have runners in these races they have often had horses win and placed at big prices.
BGC Cross Country Tips
The winner of the PP Hogan Cross Country Chase at Punchestown in February has gone on to win this race at Cheltenham in all three corresponding years so the winner of that race in 2009 must go on our shortlist for this race.
The winner of the PP Hogan in 2008 was Garde Champetre and we nominated that horse as the horse to be on at Cheltenham and those who took the tip were rewarded at odds of 5/1!
Our tips for 2009 will be available nearer to the race in March.
