The Racing Post festival riders award was won in 2007 by Robert Thornton with four winners.

In 2006 Ruby Walsh just saw off arch rival Tony McCoy in a close finish for the Festival's Top Jockey, both men recording three winners.

Graham Lee was the top jockey at the festival in 2005 with three winners and Ruby Walsh won in 2004, again with three winners.

Barry Geraghty scored an impressive five winners in 2003, a fine total equalled by Tony McCoy back in 1998.

When looking at the Cheltenham festival top jockey odds for 2008 note that just three winners could be enough to take the title.
