Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Analysis
This is a race that both Jonjo ONeill and JP McManus both love to win with three wins a piece it would be no surprise to see the McManus colours winning this race again as it is now six years since his last victory with Kadoun.
In addition to the above stats all of the last ten winners of this race had either won or finished second over three miles or further and that usually cuts the likely candidates in this race down by quite a number.

Pertemps Hurdle Preview
David Pipe has obviously worked out what is required for this race with two win and two placed in the last three years but perhaps Willie Mullins' runners should also be monitored. The Champion Irish trainer has only had two runners in this race in the last ten years and both finished third.
Conversely Nicky Henderson has had a poor run of form in this race and is currently 0/22 with his runners.
Always a fiendishly difficult puzzle to solve with punters needing to weigh up the merits of lightly raced dark horses against much raced grizzled handicappers. In recent years the tough handicappers have been coming out on top such as Cape Tribulation did for us last year.
This race has a record of horses that have been running over fences returning to hurdles to run well with Freetown, Creon, Kadoun, Buena Vista and now Cape Tribulation all having tried fences before coming back over hurdles to win this.
Pertemps Hurdle Tips
The Leopardstown qualifier for this race run at Christmas has arguably been the best trial for the final with a number of Irish runners going close in recent years.
