RSA Chase Analysis

O’Faolains Boy is the only horse in the last ten winners to have been pulled up in their prep races for the RSA.

Surprisingly only Weapons Amnesty of the last ten winners had fallen in their novice chase season before winning the RSA.

No winner in the last ten years had recorded a finish worse than fourth in their prep races when completing the course.

The mighty Denman is the only winner in the last ten years to enter the RSA unbeaten over fences.

A number of the top rated possible contenders for the RSA could go into this year’s race unbeaten such as Coneygree, Kings Palace and Don Poli but perhaps we would be better focusing on horses who have tasted defeat over fences?

All of the last ten previous winners had raced between three and five times over fences in their winning season before contesting the RSA.

Seven-years-old looks to be the age for an RSA winner with only the five-year-old Star De Mohaison stopping a clean sweep for those aged seven.

RSA Chase Tips

OLBG member botev1921 has selected KINGS PALACE:

"Top chaser with an exceptional record that includes seven wins from ten career starts, four of five at Cheltenham and three out of three chasing. Knowing that this race has been won by a seven year-old in its last eight editions, this particular seven year-old stands out to me."
